YOUR STORY — MY EXPERIENCE
From Canada to the Dominican Republic
After 25 years working in finance in Toronto, I decided in 2012 to make a major lifestyle change and move with my family to the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
What began as a personal move quickly became a professional one as well. During my first year here, I worked as CFO for Residencial Casa Linda, one of the North Coast’s established residential communities. That experience gave me an inside perspective on Dominican Republic real estate—not simply from the sales side, but from the developer and financial side of the business.
Over the years, I’ve built relationships with developers, lawyers, banking professionals and other people involved in the property-buying process while gaining something equally important: the experience that comes from actually living here.
I understand many of the questions international buyers have because I once had many of those same questions myself—about property ownership, communities, banking, legal processes, everyday life and what it’s really like to make the Dominican Republic home.
I didn’t just learn the Dominican Republic real estate market. I made the Dominican Republic my home.

Real estate buyers on the Dominican Republic’s North Coast have many choices—resale properties, new construction, beachfront condominiums, gated communities, investment properties, and homes designed primarily for lifestyle.
Each option comes with different advantages, compromises, costs, and considerations. Rather than beginning with a property I want to sell, I prefer to begin with what you are trying to accomplish.
We can compare communities, developers, locations, property types, and ownership considerations together. If one property isn’t right for you, we’ll keep looking. The objective is not simply to complete a sale. It’s to help you make a decision you’ll still feel good about after you’ve made the Dominican Republic part of your life.
