Canadian Family Loving Their Vacation Home in the Sunny Dominican Republic

Dominican Vacation Home

Oh yes indeed, there are so many reasons why the Dominican Republic is  popular amongst North Americans today.

Absolutely the balmy weather all year around tops the charts. Or perhaps the postcard perfect beaches to enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the sea. Certainly we can’t forget the fantastic caribbean food, friendly people and simply the overall natural beauty of the country.

Meet Canadians Janice & Dave in the Dominican Republic

We have many Canadian owners in Casa Linda. In fact 60% of the community are North Americans.

One of those Canadian families is my sister-in-law Janice and her husband Dave. Recently they spent some vacation time in their Dominican home in Casa Linda.

We always look forward to seeing them as we have plenty of fun and lots of laughs.

Three years ago Janice and Dave decided that the DR was the right place for them. They bought their first dominican home with plans of retiring someday and enjoying the caribbean life.

I caught them as they were packing and getting ready to leave to the airport. They are great sports to do this very last minute – so before I forget. Gracias!

Hear What They Have to Say About Why they Chose to Buy in the Dominican Republic.

Casa Linda Residential offers a very successful villa rental program. This program has allowed many home owners to buy their Dominican Republic home today and have the rental revenue cover the costs. In most instances home owners have been able to earn a tidy income.

Listen to Janice and Dave talk about their Dominican Republic Investment Home

The Dominican Republic has the largest tourism market in the Caribbean which helps support strong rental income for home owners.

“The number of international tourists visiting the Dominican Republic grew an impressive 8% between January – November 2015, compared to same period in 2014.” Also “according to Central Bank figures, more than four million international visitors traveled to the DR through the country’s various international airports” AccessDR

Along with the government encouraging foreign investment we have seen a huge positive change to the North Coast. In particular the Puerto Plata Region. A new 85 million dollar Amber Cruise Port opened in October 2015.

“Tourism provincial director Lorenzo Sancassani said Amber Cove cruise port has sparked great strides in the North Coast’s tourism revival. “Since its opening on October 6, 2015 he has received 56 cruise ships with a total of 224,683 passengers.”

Rich and I have lived in the Dominican Republic for over four years. We have seen many changes with new roads and infrastructure making travelling so much quicker. The revival of the Puerto Plata town square and surrounding areas has created new jobs and brings new life blood to the North Coast.

What does their Family have to Say About Vacationing in the DR?

Meet Drew, Kelly, Jessica, Daniel and of course Bentley. The Dominican Republic is a wonderful place for families. This was the first visit for Jessica & Daniel and they indicated they were a bit hesitant about bringing 18 month old Bentley. How did it work out?

As you can see it all worked out amazing. Bentley loved swimming and made so many new friends every time we went out for dinner. Thanks guys for letting me take this quick video and hope to see you all again real soon.
